Using life experience as grist, these workshops explore the creative art of turning memories into memoirs and often something more. Starting with a memory, we’ll examine how to develop both nonfiction and fictional work that may result in a children’s book, a short story, an article, or perhaps a novel. Apps uses examples from his own and other work. Exercises include memory joggers, use of fictional techniques, what makes a good story, and how to avoid common pitfalls.
